An old school of horticulturists and winemakers, founded in 1842 by the Ministry of State Properties of the Russian imperial government as a lower-grade School of Pomiculture in Chisinau in the Botanica sector, remains one of the most prestigious technical vocational education institutions in the Republic of Moldova.
